Director
Why Wills? It's a question I'm often asked and it has a simple answer: we all know we need one but very few people want to think or talk about it! Having previously worked for Gary as an Estate Planning Consultant, I established Freedom Wills & Protection Ltd. in the Dorset area in 2020, with the aim of helping people protect themselves, their families and businesses in the most stress-free and straightforward way possible. We do this by combining a friendly, compassionate and professional approach with flexible appointment times and home visits or remote appointments to suit our clients' schedules. I'm proud to say that our business has grown organically from existing clients recommending us to their friends and family, or referrals from other professionals in related fields. It takes a lot for someone to be willing to recommend a business or service to others, so I think we must be doing something right!
What are your interests outside of work?
I love the outdoors and all sports, playing cricket, squash and football regularly. I also can't say no when it comes to being involved in community activities, so I am on the cricket club committee, run my children's football team and act as Vice Chair of Governors at their school. I enjoy helping other people and these roles are incredibly rewarding.
What's an interesting fact about you?
Will writing and fireworks don't often go together, but in my spare time I work as an Operator for Pains Fireworks. This involves setting up and running displays all over the country. However, my favourite part is doing the pyrotechnics for big sports events, what could be better?!

What are your interests outside of work?
I like nothing better than spending quality time, eating good food and sharing a great bottle of red wine or whiskey with family. I also love my golf and enjoy heading out for a fishing trip with friends whenever I can.
What's an interesting fact about you?
I have a golf Masters green jacket. Not the one you might be thinking of, but for winning the Senior Masters at my local golf club!

Virtual Assistant
Being highly organised, having an eye for detail and extensive administrative experience, I decided to set up SH Virtual Assistance to help take on some of the administrative burden for individuals and businesses. My brother, Pete, saw an opportunity to take advantage of my skills and bring me on board at Freedom Wills, where I carry out a range of administrative tasks, ensuring that the customer journey runs smoothly and that accurate, quality documents are produced in a timely fashion. This has allowed Pete to grow Freedom Wills and focus more of his time on doing an outstanding job for his clients. It is a pleasure for us to be able to work together and support each other's businesses.
What are your interests outside work?
I have always had a keen interest in music and sport, although sport has unfortunately taken a backseat in recent years. My love of music has led me, via local pantomimes, local church choir and singing lessons at school, to complete my Music BA (Hons), perform as part of many different kinds of choirs and bands and, most notably, starting up a 3-part vintage harmony group, The Three Chordettes. I also have a husband, young family and dogs to keep me busy!
What’s an interesting fact about you?
Singing professionally has also meant I sing for a vocal agency, Hi Lo Singers, with which I have performed, sung solo and conducted at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich and The Hurlingham Club. I also record many commissions remotely for Hi Lo Singers, most notably for the BBC documentary Blitz Spirit, the Channel 4 documentary series Secret Safari into the Wild and, more recently, the Amazon Christmas Advert 2022.

Prince Philip's Will to remain sealed for 90 years
When Duke of Edinburgh passed away last year at the grand age of 99, the nation mourned his passing and reflected on his extraordinary life. As is often the case when a high-profile, public figure passes away, attention soon turned to the contents of his Will. However, those hoping for a glimpse into the private…
Video-witnessing Wills - step in the right direction, or blind leap of faith?
The Government has extended legislation making Wills witnessed, via video link, legally valid until January 31st 2024. Originally enacted in July 2020, and backdated to include Wills signed after 31st January 2020, this legislation amended the law in response to the challenges faced during the Covid pandemic. The Wills Act 1837 sets out the majority…
